Ella McLoughlin
Ella’s PhD at the University of Bath considers how lifetime stress (e.g., all of the acute life events and chronic difficulties that one experiences over the entire lifespan) affects mental and physical health, well-being and performance among sport performers. More specifically, her research is interested in understanding how lifetime stress impacts health, and what factors may affect this relationship. For example, understanding the effects of personality characteristics and/or cognitive appraisals on the relationship between lifetime stress and health, well-being and performance. It is hoped that the findings of this PhD will contribute towards building an effective support system to manage mental and physical health in sport performers.
